What to pack or not pack in your baggage

Before travelling, always check your airline's specific baggage rules. However, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) provides general guidelines to help you understand what can and cannot be transported in your baggage. Below is an overview of these guidelines.

Cabin baggage
Prohibited items:
Sharp objects
Liquids, aerosols, gels, and powders exceeding 100 ml per item, in non-transparent packaging, or totalling more than 1 litre
Medical supplies, including syringes, without proper documentation
Devices with non-removable lithium batteries exceeding 0.3 g of lithium metal or 2.7 Wh

Items that must be carried in cabin baggage:
Lithium batteries and portable electronic devices (within allowed power capacity)
E-cigarettes
Checked-in baggage

Prohibited items:
Devices with non-removable lithium batteries exceeding 0.3 g of lithium metal or 2.7 Wh
Gas canisters, lighters, fireworks, bleaches
E-cigarettes

Items that must be transported in checked-in baggage:
Sharp objects

Note: Portable electronic devices can be transported in checked-in baggage if switched off. Always consult with your airline before your flight for specific regulations.
