Advanced Reporting FAQ

How does the advanced reporting work?

You get detailed reports that show all your travel spending, booking patterns, and related invoices. This gives you full visibility and control over costs across multiple teams or departments. Reports are automatically generated based on your company’s bookings and accounts in C Teleport.

Technically, you can access your data lake through the Open Data Protocol (OData), where we store a multitude of data from your C Teleport Bookings and invoices.

How can I work with reporting data?

You can access C Teleport data in three different formats:

  • Power BI template: Use a ready-made dashboard to view key travel and cost insights.
  • Excel Access: Download all available raw booking and invoice data from our data lake for custom analysis.
  • API connection: Connect directly to your data through OData. We add new data fields regularly upon customer requests.

These options can be combined in a way that best fits your workflow. For example, a Power BI dashboard provides cross-team visibility, complemented by Excel tables for finance reviews.

How often is my Advanced Reporting updated?

  • We update your data daily at 3 pm (CET).

How can I have access to my Advanced Reporting?

  • First, ask your Customer Success Manager to generate an access key for you.
  • Then the Customer Success manager will send the access key (name and password), and depending on the selected data format, you can read below how to access your Advanced reporting

How can I access my Excel tables?

You can connect Excel directly to your data source using OData. This allows you to create your own reports, pivot tables, and analyses using live data from our system.

Step-by-Step Connection Process
  1. Open Excel: Launch Microsoft Excel on your computer
  2. Access Data tab: Go to the "Data" tab in the Excel ribbon
  3. Get Data: Click "Get Data" > "From Other Sources" > "From OData Feed"
  4. Enter OData URL: Paste the following URL into the URL field: https://reporting.cteleport.com/v1/odata
  5. Choose authentication type: Select "Basic" authorisation
  6. Select your table: Choose the desired table from the available options (e.g., "Users")
  7. Enter credentials:
    • Name: [your access name, which you received from our Customer Success Manager]
    • Password: [your password, which you received from our Customer Success Manager]
  1. Connect: Click the "Connect" button
  2. Data loading: The data will now be loaded and presented in Excel
  3. Load or Transform: Either load the data directly into Excel or use "Transform Data" to modify it first in Power Query Editor
  4. Refresh settings: Configure automatic refresh settings if you want the data to update periodically

How can I access my Power BI template?

You can download the Power BI template here.

When you first open the .pbit template file, in Power BI desktop app, you won't see any data displayed. This is expected behavior - the template contains the dashboard structure and visualizations, but requires your unique access keys to connect to the data source.

Step-by-Step Setup Process
  1. Open the template: Load the .pbix file in Power BI Desktop or upload it to Power BI Service
  2. Connection prompt: Power BI will detect the OData connection, but won't be able to authenticate automatically
  3. Configure credentials: You'll be prompted to "Enter credentials" or you can manually go to "Data source settings"
  4. Enter your API keys: Input the specific credential keys that we've provided to you for accessing the data.
    1. Enter OData URL: Paste the following URL into the URL field: https://reporting.cteleport.com/v1/odata
    2. Name: [your access name, which you received from our Customer Success Manager]
    3. Password: [your password, which you received from our Customer Success Manager]
  5. Data connection: Power BI will establish a connection to our data source through the OData endpoint
  6. Dashboard population: The data will refresh and populate all charts, tables, and visualizations in your dashboard

What are the Reporting Access Keys?

Your Reporting Access keys will consist of 2 items:

Name: …

Password: …

Note that the password is not stored in our database, which means that after creation, we’ll send it to you, and it will be your responsibility to store it safely.

Please make sure that you store these credentials in a safe place, and that you only share it with trustworthy people.

Do I need separate Reporting Access Keys for the different products?

The same Reporting Access Keys can be used for all our Advanced Reporting tools: both for PowerBI templates, for Excel OData access, and for API calls.

What happens if you lose your credential keys?

Write to your Customer Success Manager. She will delete the previous key and generate a new one for you.

What happens if someone steals your credential keys?

If an improper person gets access to your keys, write to your Customer Success Manager as soon as possible. For security reasons, we’ll delete your keys right away, so that no one can misuse your data.
