How to create a fleet or vessel?

You can manage your fleets and vessels through the Admin Portal. Simply select 'Fleet management' from the menu on the left-hand side.

How do I create a fleet?


You can create a fleet by using the "Create Fleet" button or typing a new fleet name that hasn't been created yet. You'll need to ensure you have an Admin or Vessel manager role.


Enter a unique fleet name (between 3 and 256 characters).
Select at least one tenant* from the list.
Click "Apply" to confirm your tenant selection.

*Tenant: A unique client account featuring a single currency and collective booking visibility.


Optional: In the Vessel Structure tab, you can add custom fields to better organise your vessel information, such as cost centre or travel manager name. By default, the vessel name and vessel flag fields are provided. Refer to the guide below for instructions on adding custom fields. If you prefer not to add any at this stage, simply click 'Next'.

Optional: In the Vessels tab, you can manually add vessels by clicking 'Add manually'. If you prefer not to add vessels at this time, you can skip this step by clicking 'Next'. This will create the fleet, and you can add vessels later if needed.


How do I create a custom field in the Vessel Structure tab?


By default, vessel name and vessel flag fields are provided. If additional fields would make your fleet management better, you can easily add them by following the steps below:
In the Vessel Structure tab click "Add new metadata field"


Populate the "Field name" value, select if the field shoudl be required and press "Add new field"


Multiple custom fields can be created by following the same process.

Additional information and restrictions of custom field creation


There are three types of custom fields you can create:
Optional (not required)
Required (without a pre-populated value)
Required (with a pre-populated value)

The field name must be unique and not duplicate to any existing field; otherwise, it cannot be created.

The field will only be added to the grid after clicking "Add new field".

What should I do if I can’t access the 'Fleet management' page?


You may not have the necessary access permissions. Contact your administrator to adjust your roles and access settings.
